for funding STEM trainings in 2011 for no fee to program providers! POST

                              Great Science for Girls

POST's third Great Science for Girls Institute was a smashing success.  Staffs from four partner agencies:  Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' After School Enrichment Programs, Greater Enrichment Program, Freedom School Partners and the YWCA of the Central Carolinas came together for three half-day sessions March 21-23, 2011.

This training was made possible by the generosity of:

  • CHARLOTTE ARTS & SCIENCE COUNCIL
  • CROSSROADS CHARLOTTE

MASAP 2011-2012

A revamped schedule encompasses the new highly encouraged method of collecting CEU's v.s. credit hours.  A number of the five-hour trainings will have a Leaf & STEM focus.

Trainings are currently offered September -December

and

January-April

through our partnership with:

Cabarrus County Extension Services/4H

Child Care Resources Inc.

Mecklenburg County Extension Services/4H

This partnership is possible with a grant from

CROSSROADS CHARLOTTE.

NEW REQUIREMENTS include:

  • Must attend TWO 2-Hour trainings (about 3 weeks apart) that includes a 1-hour practicum at your program during the interim.
  • Certificate and .50 CEU credit will be given at the discretion of the trainer provided that participant attends the full 4-hour class time and provides the required "proof" of the practicum.
  • NO replacement certificates will be given after a class has finished.  It is the participant's responsibility to take his/her own certificate at the completion of the second class period.
  • Those who register and do not attend may lose their ability to register for future workshops.
  • If Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools closes due to inclement weather, or is delayed due to inclement weather, the MASAP workshop will NOT take place that day.
  • All registration must take place on-line.
  • Participants may be limited to no more than two workshops in order to allow all who need training hours/CEU's the opportunity to attend.
